Bij deze quote moet ik denken aan het boek van Hal & Sidra Stone genaamd ‘Thuiskomen in jezelf’. Het is al wat jaren geleden dat ik dat boek in m’n handen had. Het stond altijd bij m’n moeder in de kast. Zonder het boek van kaft tot kaft te lezen, snapte ik de essentie van dit boek. Nu, jaren later kan ik zeggen dat ik de rust in mezelf heb gevonden.
Dat betekent dat ik in de afgelopen jaren heb afgerekend met:
- perfectionisme
- innerlijke criticus
- please gedrag
- aanpassen aan een ander
- van buiten naar binnen leven
- oordeel-denken
- rejection sensitivity
Ja, ik ben nog steeds sensitief maar de mening of het oordeel van een ander over mij, raakt me niet meer zo. Ik leef nu van binnen naar buiten. Ik verschuil me niet meer. Er is rust en tevredenheid gekomen. Ik ben al goed genoeg zoals ik ben.
